Scaffold for the Warmer Brother Conservatory Roof Replacement

Step 3 – Preparation

Prior to starting the work we will arrange a scaffold to be erected around your conservatory’s perimeter. This is so we can work both quickly and safely. The delivery of your roof and tiles may be arranged the day before install so one of our team will make sure we’re there to receive the delivery, store in an agreed location and protect with tarpaulin. We will lay a protective floor covering inside the conservatory to ensure there is no damage caused during the work.

Step 4 – remove old roof

We will carefully remove your old glass or polycarbonate roof and put to one side ready for our licensed waste collection contractors to remove it with any other rubbish generated from our work when the job has been completed.

Step 5 – Glulam eaves beam

Once the old roof has been removed we will fix a Glulam Eaves Beam to your existing frame. This strengthens and pins the frame together and provides support for the insulated roof pods.

Step 6 – Insulated Pods

Individual pre-cut timber Pods with multi-foil insulation are fixed to the Glulam Beam and bolted together for strength. A vapour barrier is left between the multi-foil and the roof to ensure there are no condensation issues.

Step 7 – waterproof

A Waterproof membrane is then installed onto of the Pods. All of the above installation steps are done on day one. We will never leave your home exposed to the elements. If there is heavy rain then on rare occasions we may have to delay the work.

Step 8 – Tiles, fascias, gutters

Before tiling we will install eaves trays and a breather mesh to allow airflow underneath the tiles.  The Tiles and Fascias are then fitted and your gutters will be put on last. Where required your leadwork will be replaced to protect any small gaps between the conservatory and your home.

Step 9 – Plasterboard

Once the exterior has been completed we move onto the interior. I’ve you’ve opted for spotlights, the electrics will have been put in already. We then fit 12.5mm plasterboard with 30mm insulation to provide an added layer of insulation. This is then plastered to provide a slick finish. The electrician will return after this to put the spotlights in.

Step 10 – Completion

The site will be cleared of all rubbish which is disposed of ethically and legally. Our scaffolders will return to remove the scaffold. You will then be asked if you are 100% happy with the results before we complete the project.
